The number of car bays at Royal Street Car Park will be reduced to accommodate the relocation of City of Perth Accredited Services (formerly Moore Street Accredited Services).
A section of the car park, near the corner of Royal Street and Lord Street, will permanently close from Sunday 14 June 2026. From this date, the car park will have 634 bays available to the public.
Why the changes are occurring
The relocation of the Accredited Services is necessary as part of the State Government’s Royal Perth Hospital Emergency Department Expansion Project. During construction and ongoing operations of the hospital, Moore Street will see increased traffic and will no longer be suitable for the Accredited Services site.
Through Accredited Services, the City provides vital support for people experiencing homelessness by providing access to food, clothing, medical assistance and laundry services. The program is delivered by 17 service providers and approximately 300 volunteers each week.
