Electric Vehicle Charging
The City is committed to working towards net zero emissions as an organisation. This includes supporting the community's contributions to overall emissions reductions by providing convenient City of Perth Parking Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations for our residents and visitors to use.
EV Charging Stations in boom-gate entry car parks
The City is upgrading the EV charging stations in our boom-gate entry car parks, these works will take place between the 1 May and 8 July 2025.
Electric Vehicle charging facilities are available in the below boom-gate entry car parks:
Boom gate entry car parks: Citiplace, Convention Centre, Council House, Cultural Centre, Elder Street, His Majesty's, Mayfair Street, Pier Street, Regal Place, Roe Street, and State Library.
Important Information:
- Car Park Terms & Conditions apply.
- Use the parking payment stations to pay for parking, and the Charge Hub app to manage your charging session.
- When your vehicle is charging the charging plugs will be locked and cannot be removed from the charging station. To remove your cable, swipe to stop charging on the app.
- Only EV vehicles can park in EV Charging Bays, your vehicle must be plugged in and be actively charging. Check parking signs for any restrictions.
EV Charging Stations in pay-by-plate (non-boom gate entry) car parks and on-street parking bays
As part of a twelve-month trial commencing 31 March 2025, the City has installed seven electric vehicle (EV) chargers across the City.
The new EV chargers are in the below locations:
Non-boom gate entry car parks: J.H Abrahams Reserve Car Park, Plain Street Car Park, and Victoria Gardens Car Park.
On-street parking bays: Parker Street in Northbridge, Nelson Crescent in East Perth, 10 Royal Street in East Perth, and opposite 132 Terrace Road in Perth.
Important Information:
- Parking fees and restrictions apply - please check parking signs before leaving your vehicle.
- Use a parking meter or the EasyPark App to pay for parking, and the Charge Hub app to manage your charging session.

Type of Electric Vehicle Chargers
Our chargers are AC 3 phase, up to 22kW, 32 Amp 'level 2' chargers, and operated by Charge Hub. Remember to bring your charging cables, charging cables are not provided at the charging station.
Electric Vehicle Charging Fees
- A fee of 45 cents per KW/h including GST is applicable.
- An additional service fee from Charge Hub applies (this fee goes to Charge Hub, not the City of Perth).
- Standard parking fees apply in addition to EV charging fees.
How to get started with Charge Hub:
The City's EV chargers are operated by Charge Hub. To get started, follow these steps:
- Download and register with the Charge Hub app (available on Google Play and the App Store).
- Plug in your vehicle using your charging cable.
- Use the app to start and manage your EV charging session.
